Our Mission
Flux was built to unlock the hidden potential of your iPhone's magnetometer sensor. Every modern iPhone contains a precision magnetometer capable of measuring magnetic fields — but until Flux, there was no app that made this powerful sensor truly accessible and useful for everyday tasks.
What Is a Magnetometer?
A magnetometer measures magnetic flux density — the strength and direction of magnetic fields in the surrounding environment. Your iPhone uses this sensor primarily for its compass app, but it's capable of much more. Metallic objects, electrical wires, and electronic devices all create or distort magnetic fields that a magnetometer can detect.
What Flux Offers
Flux transforms your iPhone into a full-featured metal detection and magnetic field analysis tool:
- Real-time magnetic flux density measurement in microteslas (uT)
- Animated visual gauge showing field strength with instant response
- Full 3-axis (X, Y, Z) breakdown for directional analysis
- Haptic feedback that intensifies as you approach metal objects
- Dark mode interface optimized for low-light environments
- No external hardware, dongles, or accessories required
Use Cases
Flux is trusted by DIY enthusiasts, homeowners, contractors, and hobbyists for a wide range of detection tasks: finding wall studs, tracing hidden wires, locating pipes, detecting rebar in concrete, finding lost metal objects, and measuring EMF levels near electronics.
Built for Privacy
All sensor data is processed locally on your iPhone. Flux does not collect any personal data, does not require accounts, and does not use tracking. Your measurements stay on your device.
The Team
Flux is developed by Meraki Dimension, an independent app studio focused on building powerful, privacy-respecting utility apps for iOS. We believe in tools that leverage your device's existing hardware to solve real-world problems.
